Running Bear Towing, Inc. opened for business during September of 2007 and has enjoyed becoming part of the Truckee community over the last few years. Most of Running Bear’s drivers are either Truckee natives or have lived in the Truckee-Tahoe area for many years. These drivers know the location of every road, short-cut, bike trail, camp site, boat ramp, and ski lift in the area. When they are not working, they frequently spend their time off making the most of the beautiful area where we live – 4-wheelin’ Truckee’s back-roads and trails, hiking, boating, fishing, skiing, and snowmobiling.
Our slogan has been “Definitely not your average bear!” since we put it on our Christmas cards in 2008. That slogan is the perfect description of our diverse and colorful crew. We come from every walk of life and bring valuable experience to Running Bear’s daily endeavors from a wide range of life experiences and professions. Our current crew includes veterans from the U.S. Marine Corp, the Army and Air Force National Guard, a surveyor and civil engineer, a semi-pro offensive lineman, an attorney, two college triathletes, an auto parts store manager, one psychology major and one psychology graduate, a State wrestling champion, an electrical engineer, and, of course, our tow-family’s dog, Shiloh.
